Quarter end should not cost you three weekends

Meridian drafts every client review pack from your own portfolio and planning data, written in your firm's house language and ready for an adviser to check, adjust and sign.

The portfolio returned 3.1% over the quarter, slightly ahead of the composite benchmark. The gain came predominantly from developed market equity, which has now drifted 4.2 points above the agreed allocation.

We would suggest rebalancing at the review, both to return to mandate and to realise gains against this year's remaining CGT allowance. Two points require your confirmation before this is sent.

The work

What it prepares before an adviser opens the file

Meridian does not advise and does not send. It assembles, so the adviser spends the hour on judgement rather than on assembly.

The pack itself

Performance, attribution, cash flow, fees and allocation, laid out in your firm's template with your disclaimers already in place.

i

The narrative

Written in the register your firm actually uses with clients, from the numbers in front of it. It explains what happened; it never predicts what will.

ii

The talking points

A short list of the things worth raising at the meeting, drift, unused allowances, a change in circumstances the client mentioned last time.

iii

The exceptions

Anything the adviser must confirm before the pack can go out is listed at the top, not buried on page nine.

Governance

Nothing reaches a client without a name against it

Built for a file that a compliance officer, a regulator or an ombudsman may open years later.

It does not give advice. Meridian describes what happened and flags what may warrant discussion. Every recommendation in a finished pack was made by a named adviser who accepted or rewrote the suggestion.

Every number is traced. Each figure links back to the custodian or platform record it came from, with the extraction timestamp. There is no step where a human retypes a value into a template.

No forecasting language. The drafting model is constrained against predictive and reassuring phrasing. If a sentence implies a future return, it does not get written.

Full version history. The draft, every adviser edit and the final sent version are retained together, so what changed and who changed it is answerable in seconds.
